April 2007 Archive
4/19- Busy, Busy, Busy! That has pretty much
been the past couple weeks around our household. Every night Monty
has come home and said,
"I need to update the home page". You can
plainly see that has not really happened. We have tons of pictures
to post including Easter for the little
ones, our Easter dinner, my new
haircut (it's all gone again) and I am sure things I can't remember
until we download the camera. Over all I will give
a quick update.
Riley: She is doing great. She can't figure
out what she love more, the new bicycle or her new roller skates.
I think she meets in the middle and
wears her knee and elbow pads while
riding her bike so she can quickly jump off and put the skates on.
Smart thinker if you ask me. She had a
quick check up the other
day. Riley is now 36 1/2" tall and weighs 28 lbs. Spring
break is now over here in Okinawa so she will be heading back
to dance
class this week. They have 1 month to prepare for their informal
recital. There will be a photographer taking their pictures so it
should be cute.
ZAQ: Growing like a weed! There are no other
way to put it. He also had a good once over by the doctors. We
were finally able to get him in the
health care system here.
Zachary was 13 lbs, however this morning I tried to weigh him and he
looked more like 14.5 lbs. He is still around 25" long.
At
his doctor visit he received 4 shots, 2 in each leg which was equal to 7
vaccinations. He cried only until i picked him up. "Shake it
off" as daddy
puts it works for ZAQ too.
Speaking of Zachary, he is calling for me in that
lovely high pitch tone. Be on the look out for bigger and better
updates to come. Until next time....
Peace Out
4/4 - As most of you know I am going to try really hard to train for
this year's Marine Corps Marathon. I have created a page to try and keep
me motivated. You can find the link on the right side of the screen. At
the bottom of the training page you can find a comments box where you
can
drop me a line. Just type in your name next to nick and type your
message in the msg box and when you are all done click Word! to post.
4/1 - Passé, Coupe', Plie', Tendu, First & Second
Position are new terms around the Quailes household! If you didn't
figure it out from our bad French
or just by the pictures below our
little princess is now a ballerina! Most of you know just how
graceful our Riley can be so I'm sure this will be a true test
for her.
Riley's teacher is Ms. Tara (the lady in the purple) and Riley adores
her. On June 1st Riley will have her first recital. Don't
worry the proud mom
and dad will be there with the video camera!!! The
pictures below were from the Parents Observation night. Ms. Tara
does these about twice a year. After
being there 15 minutes we
found out why parents don't get to stay for these things. We spent
more time tell Riley we would give her hugs later and that
whatever she
had to tell us could wait another 45 minutes.
What a better way to spend a bright sunny Saturday
than at the beach. This is a place called Sunset Beach here on
island. We were headed to another
park but ended up here. ZAQ had his first chance put his toes in the sand and Riley had a chance
to splash in the Nago Bay. It appears that daddy and
ZAQ will both
be enjoying the shade and lots of sunscreen. I am hoping we can
spend a lot more time at the beach this year. I would like to do a
bit of
snorkeling. We will see.
It seems like 2007 is the year of the baby. A big CONGRATULATIONS goes out to our good friend the Lee's.
Monty's two cents: I have noticed by adding one more person to the house
that the numbers don't add up. You would think that adding Zachary that
things would increase by 25%, but that's not even close. There's 50% as
much trash, laundry and dishes and 75% less sleep. I need to have a
little talk
with my math teachers.
