November 2006 Archive

11/10 - Halloween was actually in October, but since we are finally getting around to updates it will go here in November!  Monty was in Hawaii so Riley and I headed over to her babysitter's house, met up with some other families and had a good night.  Riley was a Flower Fairy Princess.  The first picture is just before going out and the second picture if her afterwards.  Riley was the youngest and the only girl in a pack of 6 boys.  They were all great though they followed her around and made sure she got plenty of candy.  As the night went on Riley ended up getting carried to the houses to say Trick or Treat.  Note to self...next year we take the wagon!

Ikebana has started once again.  I am now doing upright vase arrangements.  My instructor, Kimiko, has now trusted me to start helping with the new students.  I really think it is just a way for us to finish class sooner so her and I can go to lunch.  Next week we are going to do our Thanksgiving Basket.  I am looking forward to that one since I will be able to do it over and over each year.

On November 6th we went to the Marine Corps Ball. We had a good time. The guest of honor was 1st Lieutenant Clebe McClary

For those who don't know the guy in these pictures, he is R. Lee Emery who is a Marine (retired) who has been in over 40 movies but most remember him from Full Metal Jacket or for the younger audience he was the voice of the lead green solider in "Toy Story 1 and 2". (Click here for his biography).

Marines never leave another Marine behind nor do we forget about them after they are gone. The table on the left is to honor all the Marines of the past that couldn't be with us physically but are with us in spirit. The table on the right is for all of the spouse of fallen Marines who are also with us in spirit, we don't forget them either. On the Marine Corps Birthday and Veteran's Day I will be thinking of my fallen comrades and the families they left behind. Sgt Christopher S. Perez, Cpl Ramona Valdez and LCpl Holly Charette. Rest In Peace my friends you will never be forgotten...

We have also updated something on each of our other pages (the buttons at the top of the page) as well so make sure you have a look around.
